Used for Campervan conversion. Great product does what it says. Had no voltage drop problems with it at all. Would and have bought again

Great flexible lead. Easy to solder on to alligator clip. I used a propane blow lamp on a reasonable flame. Insulation wasn’t harmed at all.

When it comes to electrical cables, the diameter is measured in AWG, which is actually an American measurement - meaning American Wire Gauge. But the number is reverse to what you think it would be, as this is an inverse metric. So in this case this 8AWG wire is actually THINNER than 6AWG. However, 8AWG wire is more than thick enough for everyday use. For example 6AWG wire is used in things like Industrial sized air con units and outbuilding power supplies or other heavy duty appliances that are going to draw a lot of power. If you are not sure what gauge wire you should be getting then you should always get guidance from a qualified electrician, or better still get him to buy it for you, as there as so many important factors to consider when buying electrical wire, such as amperage (amps) rating, which takes into account the current and resistance of the wire. After the above explanation, to keep things simple for this review, I will assume you are purchasing the wire for normal everyday use, and nothing too heavy duty like the applications I mentioned earlier. Besides the thickness there two main factors to consider when it comes to electrical cable, and those are what the actual wire (the conductor material) is made from and also what the outer sheath (the insulation material) is made from. Well we already know the thickness is 8AWG so that is already decided. These particular cables are an excellent choice as they have the best of both worlds. The outer sheath is made from silicone rubber and the inside cable is made of tinned copper. This combination not only makes them makes them really soft and supple to work with, but they also have a low impedance (or resistance), which means that it's easier for electricity to flow through them. The wire is made of very fine thin strands of tinned copper, giving them high conductivity and low resistance. You can literally bend, cut, crimp or even solder them at will. The silicone rubber is fire proof and can withstand extremely high temperatures and and also work perfectly fine in extremely cold temperatures. In my humble opinion, I think you would be hard pushed to find a better cable to work with at such a good price. Even if I disregard the price, the cables still get 10 out of 10 for me.
