Excellent quality, very robust. Brilliant for a host of taslks. Makes easy work of slicing around a plant to remove and repot. The narrow trowel blade makes it easier to get into tight spaces. A bit expensive but feel it should last. In my view and having used both types this is more useful than the knife blade style Hori Hori tools.

The tool arrived so blunt that it was virtually unusable. It took ages to get a decent enough edge to it so that it cuts through roots etc.

In many years of gardening I have bough/used may tools, the cheaper ones always fail very quickly (poor quality or workmanship), whereas the 'better named' ones have never failed me or let me down, and Felco are at the top of that list.We seem to have more that the average share of deep rooted weeds this year so I decided I would give this a go and even worse is that we are on 'heavy clay soil' which puts a strain on any garden tool but as long as you use common sense and don't abuse tools (I have seen some horrific abuse of tools in my years, as most people just grab the nearest thing to use as a hammer !) my dad always told me to "use the right tool for the job" ... how right he was.I saw a neighbour using a similar tool as this, but he was pushing the handle with his foot, then was annoyed when the handle broke off... the clue is in the name "HANDle" !Anyway back the this great tool, firstly if just feels (love the wooden handle rather than plastic) and looks very strong, so I started to weed out some dandelions, and they came out with ease, bringing ALL the root with it. this is the only way to get rid of dandelions.Cleaning the mud off afterwards was easy too, just quick rinse under the tap.Just a delight to use, therefore 5 stars from me !
