Well I've been an Altra shoe wear for many many years. I agree they don't last as long as some other shoes. However lightweight, quick drying fast on your feet shoes, to be expected a little bit. However the new Olympus model, whatever this material they're using is absolute junk. I went on one hundred and fifty mile backpacking trip and the insides of my shoes are completely falling apart. Both the logos on the outsides are falling apart. The toe lip is coming off. You can see the tread looks new but the shoe itself is falling apart. 10 days of walking junk. I did not get them wet it was nice weather the whole time. I did not have to do any water crossings with these shoes so it wasn't that they got wet dried wet dried etc that can break down material. They legit fell apart. You can tell the material is cheaper than old models get the shoe is still $150. I will wait and hope that they change the material again I'm very mad because I've purchased three pairs of these shoes, they are very comfy on my feet. However I'm pretty sure the other two are going to fall apart in a week. Horrible. Customer service says normal wear and tear. Really Not even two weeks and this is considered normal wear and tear where the complete inside falls out? Not even horrible

I enjoy wearing these shoes. And I think this is the 6th or 7th time I purchased this same brand.The wide toe box works well for me and allows me to be comfortable for a while.The color is white so I’m sure I’ll have to work at keeping them clean.I feel safe wearing these shoes as the are light weight and have a firm grip.No blisters for me.

I am officially an Altra wearer for life. I have the Lone Peak’s for trail runs, but needed something with more cushion for mixed runs on roads & trail. Took these out for the first time and felt like I was flying! Hit my furthest distance and felt like I could have kept on going. I woke up this with minimal soreness, feeling great. I hugely credit these shoes for how good I feel!!As I increase mileage I’ll come back and update this, but for now I can say I am obsessed and definitely want these in more colors. Went from having sciatica, shin splints, painful achilles and other issues to wearing Altra’s and feeling amazing!UPDATE: I've had these shoes now for the better part of a year, and still love them! Altra please don't ever stop making these. Literally feels like clouds on my feet.

Kind of clunky but I kept them. I like the width. The fabric is kind of foldy.. but they are cushy. I wear them.

Habe die Schuhe noch ganz frisch und bin vom ersten Eindruck absolut begeistert!Man muss wissen, dass meine Füße so ziemlich alle Probleme haben, die es gibt. 🙈Senk-/Spreizfüße, breit, Hallux valgus beidseitig, Schmerzen durch chronische Entzündung im Mittelfuß. Ich bin vor einigen Jahren fast komplett auf Barfußschuhe umgestiegen, da ich damit keine Schmerzen durch den Hallux v. habe und die Breite eben auch passt.Mittlerweile habe ich immer mal wieder Rückenschmerzen (Ischias), so dass einfach manchmal eine bessere Dämpfung her muss bei längeren Strecken (wobei ich nie wirklich lang gehe).“ Dafür gehe ich bislang in Adidas-Sneakers, die auch recht gemütlich sind oder Joe Nimble (Trail addict).Beim Scrollen bin ich auf Altra gestoßen und habe mich informiert, was es da alles so gibt. Es sind letztendlich dann die Olympus 5 geworden. (Die Timp 4 hatte ich auch in der engeren Auswahl.)Schon beim ersten Hineinschlüpfen fühlte es sich toll an. Alles weich, gemütlich und halt eben verrückt stark gedämpft. Optisch muss man sich dann eben damit abfinden, dass es etwas bulliger aussieht. Wer aber Fußprobleme und -schmerzen kennt, dem wird das wie mir egal sein. Hauptsache nix tut weh, und das scheint in den Altras der Fall zu sein.Ich hoffe nun, dass sich mein erster Eindruck in der nächsten Zeit bestätigt und ich die Rezension nicht noch ändern muss.Bisher würde ich die Schuhe für Fußgeplagte auf jeden Fall empfehlen.Update: Die Schuhe halten, was sie versprechen und sind einfach genial. Bin jetzt drei Tage unterwegs und immer zwischen 8 und 12 km gegangen. War barfuß in den Schuhen unterwegs und auf verschiedenen Terrains. Keine Blasen, nichts scheuert, die Zehen können sich prima ausbreiten. Es gibt nichts, aber auch gar nichts zu bemängeln. Suche schon nach dem nächsten Paar Altras in dunkler.
