This is good wrapping plastic stretch film in a convenient one hand held size. I like the larger ones that you need to use two hands on because they cover a lot more surface area when you are packing/wrapping something. But these smaller ones have their purpose as well. They are more convenient for wrapping something smaller or when you need to get into a weird angle or corner. They do a nice job and come with a decent handle that does not always fall off. Good product at a reasonable price.

This handheld stretch wrap film is incredibly useful for packing, storage, and moving. It made securing an oversized, delicate dish for transport easy and stress-free. The rolling handle is so convenient and helps keep everything tight and protected. So happy with this tool and wish I’d discovered it earlier. It’s now a staple in my packing game!

The stretch wrap itself is EXCELLENT — crystal clear, strong and with good stretching potential. The problem is with the handle itself. My first encounter with shrink wrap was about 25 years ago when I sold a number of NOS vintage monitors to a customer several states away. He said he'd provide his own logistics. All I had to do was to deliver the monitors and a roll of wide stretch wrap to the local branch of his logistics company and they'd take it from there. I had never bought stretch wrap before; what I bought had an extended core which formed handles on either side.As I unloaded the monitors, the logistics foreman stacked them on a wooden pallet. Apparently, the stretch wrap I brought was fine. He pulled off a little and tied it to the bottom of the pallet. Then he proceeded to wrap the stretch wrap around the pallet and monitors from bottom to top, stretching the wrap as he went. As it was obvious I had no idea how to do that, he gave me an instructional narrative as he went. He said that is necessary to stretch the wrap because that is what gives it its strength, making a very tight and stable pallet. The stretch wrap was only one layer so it used very little and was very efficient, only a tiny bit of the roll was used. This handle is a joke. There is no way to achieve any tension to stretch the wrap when the handle is free-spinning. The handle must be secure to the stretch wrap core so that the tension applied is controlled by the user's grip. An extended paper core works okay as it can rotate in the hands with a loose grip, with greater tension applied as you tighten your grip while pulling. Plastic handles work a little better because the smoother surface rotates more easily in the hand. Best of all are the handles which have an outer flexible tube over the fixed inner handle so the friction is between the outer tube and the inner handle — much easier on the hands.A lot of stretch wrap products use this or similar free-spinning handles. I don't get it — have the designers never actually used stretch wrap, or never used it correctly? I watched videos of stretch wrap being applied with this type of free-spinning handle and it's ridiculous — they just loosely wrap the "stretch" wrap around and around. Not only is it a waste of stretch wrap (applied properly usually requires only one layer), but it results in a loose and sloppy package. It's fairly easy to fix this handle: Just wrap some of its own stretch wrap around the inner part of the handle until it can be jammed into the core so the core cannot spin. Then, with the handle locked to the core, let the handle spin in your hands as you vary your grip to apply the desired amount of tension to stretch the "stretch" wrap. Problem solved! The last photo shows my hack to correct this handle, along with the commonly used handle for a standard 3" core stretch wrap showing that it is designed to spin in the hand, not in the core.I now use stretch wrap constantly, finding it useful in so many ways, and there is no substitute when it's needed. The size I use most is the 2" wide version, which I use in place of rubber bands or tape for inner packing. It only takes a turn or two in each direction, tear with your hands and tuck the end under a loop. Do the same with this 5" version for larger wrapping. One example is wrapping a painting for storage — put cardboard over the frame and wrap completely with stretch wrap — 5" works well for that.
