This review is for the Ailelan 24pcs Velcro GrippersThe pack consists of 2x sheets of Velcro patches, each 5cm x 5cm (2" square), 12 patches of hooks, 12 patches of loopsThe patches lock on to each other really well, as you'd expect for the large surface areaThe Floor Mats in my fathers car are the generic rubber type, so the adhesive backing on the patches stuck really wellI then 'loosely' placed the opposing patch to each corner, removed the adhesive film from each and placed down onto the footwell carpet ... carefully lifted the rubber mat to allow the opposing patches to be pressed hard into the carpet. Finally relaying the rubber mat to the corresponding Velcro patch.I'm very sure the Velcro patches have locked onto each other, but not so sure the adhesive side has bonded to the footwell carpet ... but to be fair, the mats are now far more stableFor some reason, my pack had a patch missing ?At the current price of £6.09 for 12x pairs, that's not a bad price, just be sure they're right for the surfaces you're looking to adhere to ... but for car floor mats, I'd recommend them

These come as 4 strips of 10, two of which are "hook" and two are "loop" style. I like that they come with gaps between each square so that you don't have to try to tear between them.I used them on an old carpet near a boundary where it was no longer attached due to my dogs tearing at the carpet. So far it has kept the carpet down and even the robot vacuum is happily going over it without issue. I tested trying to pull up the carpet by separating between the hook and loop sections which is what I thought was the intended application (one on the floor, the other on the underside of the carpet). The two parts were so well attached I found it pulled the pad off the surface as the adhesive wasn't as strong. Of course this is an old carpet and it's not recommended, probably because it's much harder to adhere to. So I held the pad in place as I tried to separate the two parts only to find it tore the pad!So yes, they do keep the carpet down, but in my case found the hook and loop to be too strong to be useful. I'm not marking these down that much because I also appreciate my carpet was not ideal as a test - however it was where I needed it and it works.
